Reviews and Ratings
I had mixed feelings about my stay at the hotel. On the bright side, the bar was a great place to unwind with a delicious dirty martini, and the outdoor fire pits offered a cozy ambiance. However, the condition of the hotel left much to be desired, from the dirty room to the outdated decor. The price didn't reflect the overall quality, and I doubt I would stay here again unless significant improvements are made.
Our stay was enjoyable, especially thanks to the amazing service from the staff, particularly Virginia Davis, who made us feel right at home. The location is great with easy access to Newport through a free shuttle. Although our room had a decent water view, it could have been better, and the walk to some areas of the hotel was less than ideal. But overall, the property offers a lot and every meal we had was delightful.
I had a nice stay at Gurney’s with beautiful views and a lovely pool area, but the rooms were definitely in need of an update, as they lacked certain amenities and felt a bit dated. While the service at the pool was excellent, the firepit lounge area left much to be desired with slow and inattentive service. Overall, it had great potential, but there were some noticeable shortcomings.
I had an overall mixed experience at Gurneys Newport. The location is beautiful, especially with the outdoor areas like fire pits and water views. However, the condition of the hotel left a lot to be desired, with shabby rooms and thin walls that made for a less than peaceful stay. While the dining experience was a highlight, it’s hard to justify the rates given the state of the facilities. I enjoyed my time in Newport but would likely seek other accommodations next time.
